Qufu – It Is All About the Great Confucius

Everybody in the world would know about Confucius. Qufu is deeply related to Confucius as it was the home town of Confucius.  It is believed that Confucius was born at the nearby mountain Ni. Also Qufu is notably famous for its historical relics, historically important landmarks, temples and cemeteries. Qufu city is located in the south west side of Shandong province in People's Republic of China. The city is 160 kilometers far from the capital city of Shadong Jinan and 45 kilomters far from Jining. This is one of the 24 famous historical and culturally important location declared by the Sate Council.


The important three cultural sites

Qufu is very much famous for the three cultural sites related to Confucius. This site has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.  All these three sites are called as San Kong or The Three Confucian sites and they are marked as the Temple of Confucius or Kong Miao, the Cemetery of Confucius or Kong Line and the Kong Family Mansion or Kong Fu. Tourists who visit Qufu should not avoid visiting this historically and culturally important sanctum sanctum location. Incidentally, it will be quite amusing to note that most of the people in the area do have Kong as their surname which means they are part of the Confucius family. Further to the three important sites, tourists can include Temple of Yan Hui, Temple of Duke Zhou and Tomb of Shaohao in their itineraries. Winter is an off season and the rest of the season tourists are encouraged to visit the area.


  
Was the capital during Spring and Autumn – Chinese history

During the ruling of Emperor Lu, Qufu was the capital in Spring and Autumn Period, part of the Chinese history. The city has a history of more than 2,500 years. The Confucius cult is synonymous the main contribution that has been offered by the city to the world, undoubtedly. The city has witnessed the rise of many emperors and relics related to the rulers’ presence and how they praised Confucius is evident from the various inscriptions on the stales. Most of the engravings are in Chinese but some are engraved on Mongol. Among all the historical objects, the most important one is mighty stone tortoises. Visiting Qufu:

Good road, rail and air net works make your trip to Qufu an easy one. There are regular buses from Jinan and also you can find frequent bus services from Tai'an and Qingdao. The main rail line from Beijing to Shanghai passes through Qufu which allows passenger to get down at Qufu. If you hope on a high speed train, the journey can be completed in 2 hours from Beijing and 3 hours from Shanghai. Good air connectivity is also available to Qufu from various other major cities. Most of the main important site entry is regulated with entry fees. That is varied between CNY 30 to 80. Qutan Temple Renowned For Ming Style Structures

Built in the year 1392 in the course of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), Qutan Temple has a past of more than 600 years. Situated 17 kilometers (about 10.56 miles) from Ledu County in the Qinghai Province, it exhibits a collection of some of the best well conserved Ming-style structures in northwest China. The entire temple covers a space of 28,000 square meters, with the building area of around 10,000 square meters. It’s the utmost complete structures of the Ming Dynasty, conserved in Northwest China.

The temple was constructed after sculpting the edifice of the Forbidden City in Beijing, so it is denoted by experts as "the grand palace of the northwest." Its axis runs straight over its mid-section, separating the temple into two equal portions. The temple vaunts for its splendid architecture, valuable cultural relics and big pieces of murals. It has developed into an imperative arena site for religious happenings as well as a traveler destination.

History
Qutan, or Gutama, is the clan title and honorific name of Sakyamuni. Conferring to the ancient record and records of proceedings adorned on the tablet, the Qutan Temple was erected during the Hongwu rule of the Ming Dynasty. Zhu Yuanzhang (the first ruler of the Ming Dynasty) titled it as Qutan Temple and chose Lama San Luozang accountable for it in the twenty sixth years (1393) of the Hongwu rule. Attraction

The Qutan Temple is designed in a fine manner. The halls in diverse elegances, the green attractive drawings, and the humble arches, all show the classic architectural panache of the Ming Dynasty.

Amid these buildings, the Longguo Hall is the most illustrative. It’s the highest and impressive building. It comprises of an area of 912 square meters. It’s constructed on a 2-meter-high stonework platform. The top beams and ridgepoles are imprinted with all types of patterns. The entire building is regal and superb. A lot of ethnic relics are stowed in the Temple and is a great site for tourist attraction.

Tongtian River – One of the 5 Big Rivers in China

The Tongtian River flows through the province of Qinghai located in the southern part of China. This river is situated in the Yangtze River Basin as well as drainage basin of Chang Jiang River. In the upstream, the dams are Yage Dam that is estimated to produce 63.6 megawatts of hydroelectric power and Marigei Dam, a project to produce 10.4 megawatt hydro electric power.

The prettiest park in China - Qingdao Zhongshan Park

Zhongshan Park in Chinese language is known as Sun Zhongshan, which is generally used to name Chinese parks to show respect to Sun Yat Sen, who is considered as the father of modern China. There are 40 plus Zhongshan Parks in China as on today. But remember, not all parks are known as Zhongshan Parks in China. This particular park in Qingdao City is the oldest and largest park, located in the eastern foreground of the magnificent Taiping Mountain. The southern side of the park is facing the sea and remaining three sides are covered by mountains. The park is completed during 1901 and named as Qingdao Zhongshan Park in 1929 to honor Dr. Sun Yat Sen who was the military strategist of Republic of China and national hero.

Out of the 40 Zhongshan Parks in China, the largest and most impressive Zhongshan Park is the one at Beijing, which has lot of concrete memorials, stelae and arches. Penglai - The Fortified Harbour Of Ancient China

Penglai is located in the province of Shandong in People’s Republic of China. It comes under the administration of Yantai prefecture level city. The total area covered by this city is approximately one thousand one hundred and twenty eight square kilometers. The population of Penglai as per the census reports of 2003 is just four hundred and forty seven thousand. It is located on north eastern coast of Bohai Sea in China. This port was earlier known as Dengzhou. There is a fortified harbor that is in fact hidden from sea. It is called Water Fortress or Penglai Water city. It is has one of the oldest military ports of China, which was constructed in fourteenth century under the reign of Ming dynasty.


The first ancient port in China

The port is a historical monument and is provided with state protection. It was formerly a harbour for imperial war junks as well as a town for semi imperial garrison. At present, the water city is reconstructed at an expense of five hundred million Yuan, that is, sixty million dollars. Along cliffs close to the port, there is a plant walk too. Penglai is situated in central part of Yantai city and at north most portion of the Yantai mainland. Mount Tai – One of the Five Great Mountains in China

Mount Tai is an important cultural location situated in the northern side of Tai'an city, in the Shandong province of People's Republic of China. From a tourist perspective China is an enthralling nation with lot of thrilling, exciting, exhilarating and wonderful land which is more than a year to complete a full detailed visit to various culturally, politically and commercially important location apart from the historical important places and land of wonders. The tallest peak in Mount Tai is the Jade Emperor Peak which is having an altitude of 1,545 meters above sea level. This is part of one of the "Five Great Mountains" in China. Entry fee is CNY 125 per head and students will get concession and need to pay only CNY62 per head against proper ID. Bus fare to the middle point is CNY 30 per head. Cable car rate is CNY 100 for one way and return is CNY 200 per head.

Tai Shan is the nearest railway station to Mount Tai. There are more than 100 train services to Tai Shan from different part of China. You can have various forms transportation to select from ordinary passenger or express train services. It is better to book your ticket in advance during the peak season. Also, there are lots of bus services and tourist bus services operating from various cities to Tai Shan the buses can drop you the various entrances of Mount Tai. Buses can take you to the mid-way point and from there people can either hike by foot or hope in to a cable car. The cable cars are operated from 6:30am to 5:30pm. If you can prefer to hike all the way and having an experienced guide, things would be a wonder full experience.

Hiking to the top is good option

On the foot of the mountain is situated at the magnificent Taoist temple, Dai Miao which is built like the Forbidden City in Beijing with various entry gates and halls. If you have the stamina to go for hiking of about 4-7 hours all the way to top of mountain, it is one of the best experiences one can have in the life. Never forget to watch the sunrise scenery while you are on the top of the mountain!

Mount Song is a culturally significant mountain in land of China. It is also known as Song Shan. Mount Song is central Great Mountain among the 5 great mountains. It is situated in the province of Henan in southern bank of River Yellow. The zenith of Mount Song is about one thousand and five hundred meters over the level of sea. This mountain consists of many mountains in Dengfeng district. It possesses thirty six peaks and it does stretch sixty kilometers. All these were named after certain regional attractions in the region. Geopark in Mount Song is also known as the perfect textbook of geological history.
The buildings on Mount Song are in fact the reflections of various ways of perceiving the core part of heaven as well as earth. The real power of Mount Song is considered as core for religious devotion. The natural scenery of this mountain is fine. It has seventy two mountains which are grouped around mountain peaks of Mount Taishi and Mount Shaoshi. The caves, valleys, ponds, waterfalls, and more have made it a wonderful place.

It is situated in the province of Henan in southern bank of River Yellow. The zenith of Mount Song is about one thousand and five hundred meters over the level of sea. This mountain consists of many mountains in Dengfeng district. It possesses thirty six peaks and it does stretch sixty kilometres. It is composed of Shaoshi Mountain as well as Taishi Mountain and Shaoshi Mountain. The peak with highest point is at a height of one thousand four hundred and ninety four meters over the level of sea. Strati-graphical Structure National Geopark at Mount Song

In this Geopark, there is a Shaolin Monastery. This region is formed mainly by 3 important orogenies such as Songyang Orogeny that are formed two and half billion years back, Zhongyue Orogeny that are formed 1.85 billion years back, and Shaolin Orogeny that are formed five hundred and seventy million years before. All these were named after certain regional attractions in the region. Geopark in Mount Song is also known as the perfect textbook of geological history.
The buildings on Mount Song are in fact the reflections of various ways of perceiving the core part of heaven as well as earth. The real power of Mount Song is considered as core for religious devotion. The natural scenery of this mountain is fine. It has seventy two mountains which are grouped around mountain peaks of Mount Taishi and Mount Shaoshi. The caves, valleys, ponds, waterfalls, and more have made it a wonderful place.

The opening hours are from 8 am to 5 pm. The fee to enter is just thirty Yuan. You can get bus from long distance bus station at Zhengzhou.

Mount Lao – The Culturally Important Location in China

Mount Lao is also called as Laoshan in Chinese language. China is indeed a land of wonders with lot of mountains, unusual terrains, rivers, springs, waterfalls, streams and lots more. The second largest mountain in Shangdong

Mount Lao is the second highest mountain in Shandong and also is the highest mountain situated in any coastal belt in China. This is an important travel destination in China. The three lines

The three lines that take you to Mount Laoshan are the Southern Line, the Central Line and the Eastern Line. Entrances to the each of the locations are regulated by gate fee and also sightseeing buses are offered against payment. People visiting the mountain can include other famous locations such as Liuqing, Taiqing, Yangkou, Beijishui, Jufeng and Hualou. Transport services are excellent. The Southern Line:

Culturally important Taoist Palaces are the main attraction of Southern Line apart from the kaleidoscopic landscapes. The other important attractions on this route are the Longtan Waterfall or the Dragon Pond Waterfall, Taiqing Palace and Xufu Islet. During the peak time of Taoism there were seventy two nunneries, nine palaces and eight temples were said to be located in the Mountain area. Many of these locations are perished or destroyed and there are only relics remaining and the largest relics are of Taiqing Palace is a center of tourist attraction than any other things. Most of the architectural styles are related to Song Dynasty.


The Central Line:

This is the second line take you to Bejiushui and nearby area. The Bejiushui River originates from the northern side of Ju Peak. The river takes nine unusual turns and is known as Bejiushui, in Chinese which stands for ‘crooks’. The water flows much faster in this area. The river banks are rich with lush green meadows and dense forests and rocky hills. Moving along Bejiushui, you can see the cheering waterfall, Chaoyin.


The Eastern Line:

This third line take the tourists to the Lion Peak, Naluoyan Cavern, Huayan Temple, Taiping Palace and many other beautiful, historical locations. Naluoyan Buddha Cavern is located on the eastern side of Mount Laoshan. The cavern is carved out of granite having 7 meters width and 15 meters height.
