Itinerary Overview:
Yabuli Ski Resort → Sun Island → Siberian Tiger Park → Sophia Church → Harbin Central Avenue → Huamei Western Restaurant → Er Ren Zhuan Show

Winter is the best time to visit Harbin, and it must be exciting to experience the cold weather there. So when I felt cold, I started my trip to Harbin.

The moment I got off the plane, I felt I still need to wear more clothes. But don’t worry! The temperature in the car and the house is very high, and it is very comfortable to stay indoor!

Yabuli original means apple orchard in Russian language. There are 18 ski trails in Yabuli Ski Resort, and its alpine ski trail is the longest in Asia. Yabuli Ski Resort has a total length of 40 km, as well as a total length of 10,000 meters of overhead cable car, and a max drop of 5,000 meters high. I took a cable car box up to the halfway of the mountain, then down a car, and take a chair lift to the summit. The temperature on the summit is nearly minus 40 degrees, so the battery was frozen and out of power. There is only a cabin shop on the peak, selling gloves, coats, hats, and some snacks, something is ridiculously expensive, but there were still many people buying those things.

In Harbin, you should stroll around the Central Avenue, taste an ice cream in Modern Hotel Harbin, and have a Russian meal in Huamei Western Restaurant. Avenue is the epitome of Harbin, clearly reflecting Harbin's unique architectural culture and the European life, and known as the Asia's first street.

Yabuli Ski Resort

It was very cold outside, but we had to got off the plane!!!

But it’s a pity that I shot little pictures, because I couldn’t wait to ski when arrived Harbin. Look at this news, the heating pipes were burst in the cold winter.

Sun Island

The scenic area of the Sun Island is composing with 20 scenic spots. Such as the water pavilion and loud sky, youth's family, waterside pavilion, fountain and flying waterfall, Sun Mountain and Lotus Lake, occupying an area of 38 square km. The centre of the garden is featured by flowers, lakes and ice-snow beauty. And in the south, ice and snow series, exotic Russian series, a gallery and a memorial garden can be found. The amazing Sun Gate is composed of five white ellipse gates, with four small gates on the sides and a big one in the center.

My guide told me that the stone carved with the three Chinese characters is the Sun Stone. The Sun Stone can accurately forecast the weather. My god, indeed, so magic!

Tiger Park

We saw some people and vehicles on the way to the Tiger Park, our tour guide told me that the workers were taking ice on the Songhua River, to make ice lantern. The Songhua River is frozen solid, so the vehicles and cranes directly drove on the river.

Siberian Tiger Park is the world's largest Siberian tiger breeding and breeding base for Siberian tiger, an international best-known endangered species.

The park is located in the north bank of the Songhua River, occupying an area of 1,440,000 square meters. It is the largest natural park for wild Siberian tigers in the world at present. The park enjoys a favorable foundation for ecotourism and splendid scenery and it is also an ideal place for holiday and leisure. There are over 500 purebred Siberian tigers here, with 100 visible to visitors. In addition, visitors can also see white tigers, lions, lynx, leopards, and black pumas as well as Bengali tigers, making it a unique landmark tourist attraction in Harbin.

St. Sophia Church

St. Sophia Orthodox Cathedral is one of the most magnificent structures in Harbin. It was built in 1907 after the completion of the Trans-Siberian Railway in 1903, which connected Vladivostok to northeast China. The Russian No.4 Army Division arrived in this region just after Russia's loss to the Japanese in the Russo-Japanese War. St. Sophia Church was built and completed of timber in March, 1907 as part of a plan to reconsolidate the confidence of the army by building an imposing spiritual symbol. The church was expanded and renovated from September 23, 1923, when a ceremony was held to celebrate the laying of the cornerstone, to its completion on November 25, 1932, after nine years. The present day St. Sophia Church was hailed as a monumental work of art.

Harbin Central Avenue Pedestrian Street

Harbin Central Avenue Pedestrian Street is the largest and longest Pedestrian Street in Asia at present, founded in 1898, initially known as "China Street", in 1925, renamed as the Central Avenue, now it has become the most prosperous commercial street in Harbin.

The ice sculptures on the street here are beautiful and life like.

Huamei Western Restaurant

Huamei Western Restaurant is located in No. 112 of Central Avenue, was founded in 1925, one of the China’s Four Western Restaurants.

Modern Hotel Harbin is very famous in Harbin, full of exotic. It is also the representative hotel building of early Harbin.

Er Ren Zhuan

Er Ren Zhuan is a genre of local folk dance and song from Northeast China. It usually consists of two people, a boy and a girl. They sing as well as dance, using folded fans or red square handkerchiefs (which are twirled along as a song is performed) during the dancing portion.

I went to the Grand Stage Longjiang to see Er Ren Zhuan. Because don’t allow to take pictures, I just took a faceless. The actor was holding and drinking a washbasin of beer, to be honest, that performance was quite good!

Overall, it is still very fun in Harbin, but a little tired.
