Zhujiayu – A Longevity Village
Zhujiayu also known as Zhu Home Valley is a famous village located in the province of Shandong in the land of China. It is renowned for the well protection of the historical buildings which date from Qing as well as Ming dynasties. The village is situated nearly forty five kilometers to eastern side of the Shandong province capital city, Jinan. The old and new village
The whole of Zhujiayu is in fact divided into two - old and new village. It is encircled well by a big old wall constructed using vast rocks. The entrance to the ancient village is through a beautiful arched doorway. Here, there are several traditional buildings which offer greetings to people to view the attractive and pleasant scenery of mountains in the background of village. When one walks through main road, one will attain a feeling as if he or she is back in olden times. Due to the regional geology, the constructions in the ancient village are typically constructed using the stones and the rocks from mountains nearby.

In the Zhujiayu village, there are nearly three hundred residential houses, pavilions, temples, bridges, courtyards and more from period of Ming and Qing dynasties. It is well surrounded by endless forests as well as fields that are coated with beautiful blooming flowers. It can be seen that most of the buildings are just two storied or one storied. Even though few houses appear very shabby with faded paint, visitors can then too feel the former glory of village due to the exquisite carvings over roofs and windows. From neighboring mountains, rivers and creeks do flow winding the entire village. Over ninety quaint stone bridges are built in the last few centuries. Each bridge possesses different style and design.
